Re: Starter and house batteries- same?

Well, FWIW my group 34 starter batteries lasted about 6 years before dying slowly over a month, then all of a sudden after a single total discharge a month or so back. That said, I'll know not to do that in the future!

This evening I spent four rather satisfying hours tearing out all the wires and cables from my boat that went to electronics that I have already removed or needed to remove to make way for the new stuff I'm installing.
I bought a new Promariner 2-bank charger, which allows me to charge both banks independently, so I will hold onto the old starter battery for now. The only issue I ran into is that the new Victonic battery monitor doesn't have enough space on its shunt for all of the wires I need to go to it. I'll have to run a bus bar to it instead. But otherwise the install is going well.
