Step down transformer

My boat has a pro marine battery charger wired at 110v, it is now in a country with a 240v supply.

I am thinking of using a simple step down transformer for the charger which will be connected to the marina cord and not the boats AC system, and the charger is also not connected to the AC wiring.

Can anyone see any issues with using a simple off the shelf transformer, or am I missing something in the marine environment?

Re: Step down transformer

We use a transformer for many tasks on board with no issues. Don't think the charger is subject to any special requirements... likely will work fine.

BUT... many (most?) Pro Mariner chargers will run on either voltage. I have two different ones and they both will work on either 110 or 220/240 VAC input. (that's why I bought them!)
