Switch Guard Test

Playing around with switch mounting ideas, and came up with this design.

Test plate produced by Front Panel Express. Switch is APEM 600H-600NH series. Switch guards from SteinAir.

Obviously potential overkill for normal marine use, but has a nice industrial look.

Key reason for producing the test piece, was to get a feel for the clearance on the front for a finger/thumb between the guards, and on the rear for a two pole switch. My thumb just fits nicely with the spacing of 1.2". The guards could be closer to save panel real estate, but I also want to ensure enough room for the label.

Re: Switch Guard Test

Why reinvent the wheel. Blue Sea Systems makes a switch guard that protects standard circuit breakers. Takes up much less space and less cost than a custom panel.
