56V is just ballpark Vcharging for 48Vnominal.

The Integrel is able to reach it's output at much lower rpm than the HPI 56V, utilizing a special type of rotor that....well...I don't know if I'm allowed to say. Not that I fully understand it anyhow...

Seems going higher voltage is a smart move, not only for efficiency but also to keep wire sizes down.

Yes I think so. On the website it says the system comes with dc/dc converters.

I am glad you're back.. Any chance you can tell us more about the black box ? How does it "know" about not overloading the engine ? Is it compatible with older engines (e.g. 4JH4E) ? Any modifications required ?

Higher voltages have just about every advantage going for them, the electric car and hybrids are running in the hundreds of volts.
Can get complex and also expensive, but has many advantages.
Only drawback is at some point you have to use the same safety standards you would with mains power.
