Re: Upgrades Needed Along with Larger Battery Bank?

FLA is by far better value and last longer than AGM. High CAR is only when depleted and makes very little difference to overall charge time.

T-105s are great, RE version even better, Duracells sold at Sam's and Batteries+ cheaper $1/12V-aH and almost as good.

Doesn't take much ventilation opening to prevent hydrogen from building up.

Designing a system without dedicated Starters is easily done and IMO a great idea,

but I'd only rely on those little jumpstarter powerpacks for belt and suspender 3rd level backup.

Re: Upgrades Needed Along with Larger Battery Bank?

I assume no generator on board?

Do you motor for hours every day independently of bank charging needs?

How many days at a time away from shore power?

No dino juice source will get a bank to the 100% Full it needs a few times per week for longevity.

Doesn't take much solar to remedy that, low amps can take care of the long tail after the high-amp early stages powered by fuel.

Re: Upgrades Needed Along with Larger Battery Bank?

I would recommend buying a good charger, properly sized, independently of the inverter.
