Victron MPPT Controller Instrumentation.

I've thrown away my fake solar controller (PWM labelled as MPPT) and now installing a Victron controller.

The controller is "Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 (Up tp 48v-20A) Bluetooth Solar Charge Con

Obviously I must buy separate instrumentation?

Should I install one of these at around $80

Victron SmartSolar Pluggable LCD Display
Victron SmartSolar Pluggable Display for SmartSolar controllers with the front display option.


NOTE I think I should install this one but want to make sure





Or one of these at around $130?

Victron MPPT Control Display

Remote control panel for Victron VE.Direct MPPT Regulators. NOTE: Additional VE.Direct cable is required.

Or you use your phone or tablet via the Victron free app.

Just use your phone. Solar data is not that usefull anyways. Overall Battery data from a bvm is more usefull.

The top one will not work with that controller anyways.

I recently installed my Victron 75/15 MPPT SmartSolar Controller.

I still had an old Victron VE Connect Cable laying around so had the display you normally see on your phone on my boat laptop.

It was a bright afternoon so there is some glare in the photo otherwise your phone or laptop give you all the display you will need

Also when hooked to WiFi they will update your controller. Your new one will definitely need to be updated and you will see that happen with your laptop (faster) or via Bluetooth on your phone.
