What amperage switch do I need?

I am installing the macerator which is 24V 6A. I need to buy a push button switch but I'm not sure what the minimum amperage would be safe. I do know:
  • the macerator will draw around 18A on start up
  • the use of the switch will be momentary
I'm wondering if there is a difference between a momentary rating and a continuous rating for smaller switches.

(The larger switches I have installed are in the order of 250 continuous 500 intermittent but I've read those figures can be a bit "rubbery" because there are different definitions of the word "continuous").

NOTE
Maybe I have answered the question myself because I came across a switch rated as "intermittent" and I have bought not one but two. I feel confident as the seller has close to a 100% buyer approval rating: he's no crook.

Re: What amperage switch do I need?

Those switches are "momentary" contact (closed only as long as you push it in), not momentary amperage rated.
They will do the job nicely.
Try to operate them in a quick make, quick break, mode. Don't push or release slowly.
