Where can I find an electrical schematic design service?

Hi All,

I'm planning a decent overhaul of my pre-switched distribution electrics. I have a conceptual drawing for all the parts. I would like a professional to draft out a full wiring schematic. All the online providers I've found are $500+ but usually include design consultation and a full end-to-end system. I only need a part of the system drafted.

Is it possible to get professional input at a lower cost or is this the expected rate?
Can anyone point me to someone/somewhere that I could contact?

To be honest, $500 sounds cheap. It takes a while to layout cabling, wire size, circuit protection, monitoring, etc. There's a lot to look-up and design, plus need distances for wire sizing. $500 buys no more than about 8 hours of an experienced professionals time. Not sure what you're looking for, but of you've found it at $500, I'd lock it in and get on with it.

There are are some really sharp folks on this forum. Once you have a drawing and collateral (photos?), may want to post here for comment. You'll have to sort through the junk, but should be able to get some very valuable information. Good luck.
