Where to get solar between Bahamas and Grenada

We are currently in the Bahamas and working our way south to Grenada. We are in a 46 foot catamaran and I would like to have an arch built over the davits for solar, then add solar.

Would prefer not to go to Florida if I don't have too.

Can someone suggest the best place to have the work done on our way south? I'm thinking the DR or Grenada might be the best combination of quality of work and price. Maybe Trinidad?

Thoughts and if possibly suggestions on marinas/people to actually do the work?

Best,

Ken

You might also consider Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten.

Re: Where to get solar between Bahamas and Grenada

just giving this a bump.

St Martin is certainly an option. Does anybody have a suggestion of who can do the work? again need stainless welded for supports and then solar added.

Right now I'm leaning toward Grenada as I will need to leave the boat there for an extended time anyway.

I'd like to start gathering estimates but would love some references for places in both St Martin and Grenada.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Re: Where to get solar between Bahamas and Grenada

Check with Sherry Roopchand of Wholesale Yacht Parts in Grenada for the panels and electronics. It's been a while since I've dealt with her personally, but we keep in touch via Facebook. We purchased 3 Hyundai 240W panels, BlueSky MPPT controllers and connectors for our solar project, and everything is still working 9 years later. Also bought Raymarine MFT and radar through her company.

There are several good SS fabricators on the island, so no problem there. Even had one machinist fabricate a new double v-belt pulley for our alternator. Great place!!!

St Martin is probably the most "yacht work" oriented place in between, it certainly has the most chandlers, and engine mechanics etc.
