Nothing anti-social about that, right?

Here on Cruisers Forum the same Mark Johnson has alternately described the noise made by the Air Breeze as: "like a weed wacker" (numerous threads); "like chalk squeeking [S.I.C.] on a blackboard;" "a high pitched, rapidly fluctuating 'Wissss ch ch ch ch ssss'"; a "constant drone;" and now, on this thread, "having a pulsating nature;" and, "sorta like dragging auditorium chairs on a tile floor."

This same Mark Johnson claims, repeatedly, to have empirical data from a GPS on how far away you can hear the noise. In round numbers, of course.

Consider not only the source, but the pattern of the rhetoric.
This gave me a few good laughs. Thank you.

Re: Wind Generator (My Logic & Questions)

Austin,
Check out the tutorials on Coleman Air - I also have a lot of questions about the setup of wind and solar systems and they sure answer a lot with all their information.

Ssshh! Don't tell anybody but, I just reinstalled my Marine Air X with new blades and it actually gets quieter with increasing wind speeds. Actually it get's silent after an amp or more on the current meter.

Re: Wind Generator (My Logic & Questions)

No matter how quiet a wind generator is, solar panels are quieter and they don't have a chance to take off fingers or foul lines.

I've owned a Four Winds (took it off and sold it) and went with solar on my previous boat.
I have a 403 Air X for my shoreside house, (noisy and pitiful output unless it is really blowing) and am thinking of adding a solar grid intertie in the PNW after seeing how well it works on my current boat.
