Wiring Diagram

I have a 1988 Ebbtide Dynatrak 180ss and need a wirng diagram for the boat. The last time I took the boat out, everything worked. After backing it into my driveway, now nothing works...motor doesn't crank, T&T doesn't work, radio doesn't work, lights, bilge, aerators, horn all don't work. Circuit breakers not tripped, batteries good.
Ebbtide doesn't have manual / diagram for a boat of that age.

Thanks

Re: Wiring diagram

Your going to have to dig around and follow wires. It does not have to be a broken wire, just a corroded ground.

Re: Wiring diagram

You might start by checking all the connections starting with the batter. If they are nuts and bolts type connections take them apart clean them put them back together, including the battery terminals. Is there a plug-in connections unplug them spray them with contact cleaner look them in an unplug them several times. I would suggest you start at the battery and work your way back or forward however you want term it. Sounds like you got corrosion someplace. Just my two cents, Mike.

Re: Wiring diagram

Thanks Badsanta and Florida Mike.

I have 3 batteries and it appears one is dedicated to the motor which makes it hard to understand why nothing else works on the boat. I just bought the boat and it was stored for a couple of years by the family of the previous owner. Guess that's what I get for buying such an older boat...

Get a simple VOM from Radio Shack. You can check the voltage starting with the Batteries and go to the key (off/on)switch check that you have 12VDC at the common and ground. If you do not you could check for continuity between it at the positive battery terminal. You can use this kind of trouble shooting until you locate your problem. Slow but it will get you there. Corroded terminals can be cleaned with a solution of Baking Soda and water. Protect them afterwards with grease. Good luck.
