Xantrex Freedom 10 not charging

Greetings everyone,

I have a Xantrex Freedom 10 that will not charge my batteries. The Inverter function works fine, I have no issue with the pop up breaker or the internal fuse. When I put a voltmeter on the output It goes from about 9 volts up to 13 volts on a ~5 second cycle. When I put my DC Ammeter on it, it is sending less than .2 amps to the batteries. The LED lights seem to operate as the manual says they should, but still the unit is not charging my batteries. I've opened the case to check connections, nothing apparent to me. No exploded Capacitors. Marina voltage is in range ~122VAC.

the output can not go from 9v to 12v if it's connected to the batteries.... is this with it disconnected on purpose during testing?

is it passing through AC while trying to charge? I think the most common failure is the transfer swtich. which would stop AC passthrough, andl likely also charging I guess.

You Sir, are absolutely correct. And once you had said it so clearly I saw that I was a liar and had not checked all my connections. My fusible link was loose and once tightened the whole thing works perfectly. To say I am embarrassed is an understatement. Thanks for pointing out what should have been obvious.

That’s an odd one because you said the inverter was working. Which is putting current through the same fuse. So I figured you disconnected to test the output by itself.
