Brand new here and register hoping to get some information on my link 1000 I have had it for years and it has worked great for a very long time. Recently I had trouble with it and I changed the battery bank which is actually just two batteries it used to be four. Now if I reset it as if I just put a new Bank of batteries in all four of the lights will light up and it will seem normal. Then in no time at all it will go to three lights then to Dan down to the one blinking as if the battery is almost dead. When the battery has more than 13 volts. I can go to the panel and reset it and then it'll show the four lights again but if you come back in 10 minutes it will be back to the one light on the left blinking I hope someone can help me with this please.

Have you set the ah size of the new bank?

What is the amp reading while they are dropping quickly.

Yes I said it back to the original 200 I have to get back down to the boat and see what the amps are when it's dropping like that

Other then wrong ah setting, High amps causing legit gauge droping. Is the discharge floor setting.

If you set to go high like 90%. Then the lights will disappear at 90% instead of 50%

So look at the ah counter. At -100ah the lights should be turning off. 50% floor default. If they are turning off at -20 or something the floor is probably set wrong.

I will take a look at that I'm going down there this evening thank you very very much I don't know how it could have got set differently but I'll be honest I had really no idea about that

Sorry to hear about your woes. I have a Link 2000, a similar device,as you know.

1. I can send you a Xantrex bulletin from 1996 that was not widely distributed but better explains how to do a system reset, and starts by saying: "it's better than the installation manual." I have sent this to many skippers who have trouble with their Link units. Send me a pm and I can get it to you by email.

2. I know the lights are flashing, but what does the ah meter read as far as whether it is functioning? Is it?

3. Don't know if you've seen these, has to do with the "floor" AKA trailing amps; really charge parameters.

Okay I got down there this evening. An it was down the one light flashing. The v r 13 the amps are - 457 I actually had to reset reset the capacity again at 200 because it was at 440 I don't know why. When I did all four lights came on AMP hours where 99 while the four lights were on I went to see if the capacity was still 200 and it was I watched it for a little while and all of a sudden boom one light disappeared and when I went back in capacity was 440 again a were down to 77 and dropping and again amps are - 457 I know it's not possible but that's where I'm at

Also the link 1,000 book I have says go to a certain place in there to show you where to set your floor but then it doesn't show you how to set the floor at all

Function F09, page 32, in my Link 1000 manual. All functions are set the same way, page 29.
