Yamaha Generators

So I purchased a Yamaha Generator and after 5 hours of use, it died. It comes with a one year warranty and the sales person said I can go to any Yamaha dealership and get the warranty work done. I purchased it in Saint Martin 2 days before heading south. Each Island I went to simply said they can't help me. They did not give me a good reason. Most of the time, it was... we don't support that model. Strange because they sell that same model.

Anyway, frustrated, I emailed and call Yamaha headquarters. 3 months later, after I have already resolved the issue (I purchased a new carburetor). They tell me only the place you purchase it from can do the warranty work. I suppose I should not be surprised that the sales guy lied.

So, if anyone is thinking about buying a brand new Yamaha Generator... think twice

I purchased a 2400Watt Yamaha generator that was perfect for over two years.
It stopped producing AC just after we left Ontario for Bahamas I have no way of diagnosing a circuit board and Yamaha refused to give me a wiring schematic. They refused to tell me which board was the likely culprit (I don't think they knew).

Not a single Yamaha dealer between NY State and Grand Bahamas would even look at it.

No more Yamaha products for me.
