yanmar L135 alternator.

Hello. Having difficulty in splitting this alternator. Front part came off ok. Need to remove Rotor, but cannot get it to release from bearing. There are 3 very small holes on rear casing, are these for access to the rear of the bearing? Anyway nothing seems to move. Can anyone assist. Thank you. Patrick.

Get a bigger hammer. The small holes may be to hold the brushes back with toothpicks when you are reassembling.

Thanks Donradcliffe, ah! The 'When in doubt method' I did fit the wrong end of a large adjustable spanner over the Rotor shaft, fitted the nut on and severely wellied it with a decent hammer to the point where the Alternator was ready to go into orbit ! You mean that size of hammer ! Patrick.
