As others have mentioned, once the display starts acting funny (on/off, flickering, etc.), it will eventually die — not a matter of if, but when.

When this happened to me at the end of this season, I followed the suggestions received here and ordered my replacement display from AK Speedo.

The great thing is that the replacement display comes with the connection strip already attached, so it’s as easy as swapping the old lcd with the new one. They also provide a video tutorial — really dumb-proof, even for someone like me haha!

Works just like new, I’m very satisfied of the results and the fact that the original engine hours are preserved.

I've just ordered the new LCD with cable from akspeedo. Looks more weather proof than the original. Look forward to replacing it.
