Re: June Giveaway - Boat Galley Cookbooks

There are lots of great bits of advise on a variety of topics...some of my favorites have to do with energy conservation aboard. I found cooking with a thermos to be handy both on and off a boat.

Multi-Use Salad Spinner

Use my salad spinner almost every day, fantastic for drying all sorts of things, not just lettuce. Love it.

Re: June Giveaway - Boat Galley Cookbooks

All cruisers should have a copy of the Boat Galley Cookbook on board. I have already bought mine.. But if you don't win I would recommend buying one for your vessel....Michael...

Re: June Giveaway - Boat Galley Cookbooks

Well, this is timely, since I *just this weekend* posted the link to one of BG's articles on another thread. This one:
How to Use a Baking Stone
Putting a baking stone in the oven was totally helpful for getting the heat in my 18 year old Force 10 to even-out for warming frozen nahn bread, and pre-prepared & frozen Chicken Marbella. I'm new to boating, so I was asking the forum if they thought the book would be a good purchase, and here it is, available to win! Fingers crossed!

Cleaning in Tight Spaces

Melting a toothbrush. Who knew?
This handy way of forming a cleaning tool is pure genius.
In addition to cleaning with this newly formed brush, I am envisioning a very handy weapon in my pursuit of those tricky palmetto bugs.
You can bet that once I spot a bug, I will quickly thrust the new tool into
The Captain's hand.
He's certain not to miss. Or freak.
Thank you for sharing the method for this great craft project!

Blue skies......Irene

Enjoy the whisk that stows recommended by The Boat Galley. Got it from Amazon. Nice and useable.

Another tool in the galley In the gallery i like is the stainless steel measure set from Weight Watchers. Nice long ladle handles the one cuo double as a scoop for hot pasta, soup or flour or..., the half cup can be used for hot or cold items, and the fourth cup as a gravy ladle or to measure. I like tools for various uses.
