I will soon to be living on my small sailboat (Contessa 32) and at the moment I am hand-pulling up my anchor. She does not have a bow roller and I will be honest, 30ft of chain is hard going. Setting the anchor or pulling it up is awkward which in turn also makes it difficult. A future decent bow-roller will be a game changer for me and save some backache.

You know what costs the most everytime I want to go for a scuba dive? Renting the equipment. I doubt I would ever be able to justify dropping the cash for a kit but oh-man... If I had my own stuff I could go out so much more often. Top dream stuff.

I just sold my sailboat and naturally the anchor stayed with the boat. Making the old guy transition from sailboat to trawler and am going to need a new Mantus anchor. Not certain but will likely need to be an M2.

That said I did remove the Mantus bridle before listing the boat. Don’t care what anyone says. We spend most of our lives at anchor and I like to sleep well.

I had a Mantus anchor on my last boat and it never failed me in the 8 years i had it. If I were to win this contest, for the next boat I am currently searching for (42-47') I would purchase an M2 galvanized anchor. I have a 1994 Island Packet 40 and my 2 anchors are original and are extremely rusted as is the chain. Time for an upgrade to the best anchor to give me peace of mind, more or less. I always anchor out on my cruising trips in the Gulf so will give a new anchor lots of use.

We have wanted one of their M1 anchors for a while now. Their reputation for holding in most conditions is well documented.

We already have an S1 swivel for our smaller anchor and are extremely pleased with it. It is bombproof, so an S2 swivel to go with the 45#'r would be needed as well.
