Dear Contest Judge,
We are a family of four sailing the Caribbean. During a routine anchor hoist, on our Leopard 48, we drifted over our Delta anchor due to a sudden wind gust. We didn't discover that our anchor was bent until we reached our next destination in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Desperate for an anchor we went to the local marine store(1 mile into town) where the young sales person pointed us toward a Fortress and we dished out the $800 to buy it. After walking a mile back to the boat we were padding ourselves on the back for not having a big heavy anchor to carry.

We soon realized, after installing it, the store associate sold us a under sized anchor for our boat. It barely held in most conditions and is useless in mud. Our family desperately needs a new M2 anchor.

What a great company!! I also would love a new tshirt or is that a boat show special only? We’ve traveled half way around the world in 10 years. Only dragged once in Bimini on coral. Do we need a new anchor? Nope but it would be nice to have a shinny anchor. Your printable anchors are sweet! I would love one item of each Mantus product but I am on a cruiser budget.

I sail extensively on the Chesapeake Bay, out of Annapolis, MD. Many fellow sailors have been repeating the "Mantus mantra" to me after witnessing my 3 or more unsuccessful anchor-set attempts. Because they get their Mantus anchor down and set in one go, they get to sit back with a beverage and shake their heads in wonder while I, on the other hand, pace back and forth from the windlass to the helm (single handing while setting anchor is not a pleasant task), lowering and raising chain.

The next item on my list is a bridal for the new anchor:

It goes without saying that I'll need a snubber for my new anchor. Sudden and sometimes violent thunderstorms are another feature of the Chesapeake Bay. Having a snubber will give me piece of mind at anchor.

Unfortunately, the Chesapeake Bay is fairly polluted, so having a dive kit will help me keep my bottom clean and my prop barnacle-free.

I have a tough time keeping my anchor from bouncing around in the chop. I have an assortment of ersatz taming methods that are quite crude in comparison!

Love all our Mantus gear! Full time cruising, we rely very heavily on our 85lb Mantus M1 anchor. We held rock solidly through hurricane Kay recently in the Sea of Cortez, MX. We already own a bunch of their product line- swivel, snubber, chain hook, several head and clamp on lights, rail clamps, universal deck key, even a Mantus bottle opener. Every product they have designed is top quality and can take the abuse of cruising in the harsh marine environment. Would like to add a dive kit and could use an extra shackle or two.
