Bifocal Sunglasses

OK, out of frustration, I'm going ask a frivolous question...sorry about that.

A few years ago (maybe quite a few) I picked up some sunglasses at the Annapolis sailboat show. Easy right? But these were bifocal reader style sunglasses, and the reader part was untinted.

After years of wear, I've finally broken all of the several pairs I purchased. But I haven't been able to replace them because I cannot figure out what they are frigging called...

Easy to find sunglasses with readers. But the readers are always tinted, and having clear correction lens made close up work SO much easier. So try searching for untinted reader sunglasses - results are clear readers...

I also don't care for polarized lenses - instrument screens use polarization, so if the polarization is at a different axis, you have to look at it sideways.

Guidance welcome, even snarky guidance.

Re: Bifocal Sunglasses

Plenty of options in bi-focals: adhesive bi-focal/reader lenses, brand-name sunglasses (but mostly polarised, because the target audiences do not read LCD screens) with integrated bi-focals:

Barz Optics do polarised sunglasses with non-polarised reader portions:

Re: Bifocal Sunglasses

I have polarised, auto tinting, bi-focals. I find they work well in all situations for me. Not a problem with reading my screens either.

All have the reader portion tinted. I’m looking for clear, uncolored in the correction area. But I may have found one… https://icueyewear.com/products/polar-view-bifocal

I reckon that a specialist optometrist (i.e. not one of the budget ranges) would sort you out.

Expect it to be a not-cheap option!

Glasses clip on.....

When I got my last set of glasses, they gave me several for free.

Years ago, I can recall having prescription bifocals for flying where the lower inner corner of each lens was clear to make reading the instruments easier.

You might try sone of the pilot supply houses as a source.
