Good to hear you won't be swallowing the anchor once home, and your sailing adventures will continue!

Re: Fiji to Bundaberg September

Queensland is one of very few places on earth where one can enjoy 12 mth summer and can avoid cyclones on the boat and remain in 1 country.

if this thing lasts longer, there should be dramatic increase of sailing community, if allowed in of course.

Unfortunately, infrastructure in QLD is rather appalling. My wife confirmed there are only 2 places where it is worth stopping for meal on whole east coast. Third one was closed recently in Manly Sydney. She is into salt and pepper calamari. Extremely dissapointed and still cant recover from culinaric expectation of Dunk Island spit (not opened yet )and trying her dish.

Seem QLD is still fixated onto generating economic growth via students import.

Well the Lady Pamela crew had their exemptions cancelled after they broke the conditions of their exemption. Now all 7 get to enjoy 2 weeks in hotel quarantine at their own expense. Oh, and also pay for 2 weeks guest dockage for the boat!

Wow, there are only 2 places worth stopping for a meal on the entire east coast?? You must have particularly refined palates.

Can't make the connection eh.

It contrasts the difference between the wealthy and influential and the average citizen. Wealthy and influential cruise three states in a luxury yacht and Peggy Sue, the normal citizen with a far better claim to compassion gets to sit in a dismal hotel room by herself for two weeks.

If you really need it I can have a go at a cartoon.

Do try and keep up with the herd, Raymond..
... no preferential treatment... lied on their application to have just the crew take the boat to Qland.... good chance of criminal charges in Qland....broke quarantine in NSW... could and probably will face charges there....

Travelled more than 5k from home to their boat in Docklands , Melb.... stopped at Refuge.....watch this space...

They have gone the 'full Zatara'... speaking of which.. I wonder where the Zits are spending summer...??

Re: Fiji to Bundaberg September

Another boat load of southerners fleeing the oppression of the unenlightened south to the glorious freedoms of the sunny, benign north. Whether or not they are now in trouble for breaking quarantine the instances of double standards are becoming rife, like allowing foreign students back into the universities and there was a photo of a child playing in the tourist section of an aircraft which otherwise was completely empty. Apparently business and first class were full because the airlines are filling them to the limit of the quotas.

I have never been in agreement with the restrictions imposed upon the population in response to this pandemic, much of which is just plain stupid; placing barriers down the middle of a street because the state boundary runs down the middle of the street for instance, excluding cruising yachties who need to start moving out of the cyclone zone etc.

The time will come when you awaken in terror from a deep sleep in the middle of the night with the thought "good god, maybe they really are doing their best".
