Knight Inlet, British Columbia

I would like to explore Knight Inlet, British Columbia this summer if the border ever opens. I have already explored Tuba and Bute Inlets and look forward to this 70 mile long fjord and the beauty is holds.

However, my exit from Bute was a challenge motoring against a surprised 30+K influx headwind and forced to continue versus turning around for fear of losing the towed dinghy. The anticipated total lack of any communications due to the surroundings high mountains makes any weather forecast unobtainable.

I seek comments from those experienced with Knight Inlet and the absence of suitable anchorages due the extreme depths throughout the inlet.

Re: Knight Inlet, British Columbia

I think your trepidation may be justified.
Knight Inlet has a major current, and severe turbulence at its mouth, during tidal changes, and outflow winds from it, which pour out of the BC Interior, are a hazard to small vessels in the Queen Charlotte Strait.
