Don't remember off hand just how far, but those little 29hp (be sure you get the 29hp engines.. not the 20) yanmars are fantastic motors and they sip fuel. If it was just my wife and I.. I'd say yes to storing and hauling all the toys you mention.. but we need the cabins too often to be putting much down there. A watermaker would let you eliminate a water tank (especially as the Moorings boats come with 3) and that would make for more storage space.
The Moorings boats could use more solar and there is space for it. Room for a wind gen too. Battery bank seems fine with three 210 agm's.

We feel better about buying this boat with each reply! Love the family photo too.

Thanks,
Dean

Take a look at -Sailing Fata Morgana-

They are a family of three now in the South Pacific on a 2009 Leopard 38

Great video, how cool is that young lady. We hope our future has a trip through the South Pacific in it!

Thanks for sharing,
Dean

The Leopard 39 is at the top of my list for my next boat and after sailing a lot in boats with washing machines would like to have one....
Can't share photos..but we store the washer/spin dryer under the nav table in the owners hull. It just fits. We roll it out when we use it.

2012 Leopard 39

We have an L40. Can't imagine getting by with any less space. It can be done, but we wouldn't want to.

We weren't thrilled with wood colors and counters either but safety, security, reliability, and access to serviceable items were important to us. We let many things slide in favor of practicality and comfort.

There is at least one Leopard owner who put a washer above port head sink relocating the mirror to hall (or maybe it was relocated to a cabin, I forget). We thought about placing washer dryer in owner's shower on stbd forward access wall.

So far, the kind of cruising we do allows us to just bring laundry home on the plane. That may change soon but for now we have not installed a washer yet.

Good luck

Is this boat able to cross oceans or more of a coastal cruiser? Are there any Leopard 38/39 owners out there that can share their experiences with us? Should we hold out until we can afford and find a larger Leopard or Lagoon?
If you are staying with the 39 then this link is pointless. Sadly the colors of the cabinets and counter tops are not revealed in the "for sale" ad. Stunning boat none-the-less. Maybe good for comparison.

I knew I had the measurements somewhere:

Saloon: 6' 7"
Hull: 6' 4"
Head: 6' 2"
Front of dinette table (towards bow) 6' 3"
Galley: 6' 7"
Starboard hull at widest point: 57 1/2"
Bridge Deck (loaded for cruising, full water, full fuel, etc.) 24"

The wealth of information on this forum, and the helpfulness of it's members never ceases to impress me. Information on headroom seems tough to find for some reason. So, thank you for your help!

Thanks. Can you share the make/model of the washer dryer that fits in there?
Thanks
