1975 41' Gulfstar Ketch $30K

We are spending our last summer as sailors aboard our 41 ft. Gulfstar Moonshadow and then she could be yours for another lifetime of cruising.

The asking price is $30,000 US and reflects our desire to see someone continue ownership as serious cruisers and liveaboards as we have been for her last 28 years

Summary of features:

41 ft LOD, 12' beam, 5'8" draft, 55 ft clearence. Cruise ~6kt, Max ~7.5kt

No non-cosmetic maintenance required!

SOLID deck, all soft core was removed at our purchase and replaced by Bristol Boatworks, makers of the famous line of classic cruisers. Then all deck hardware was removed, coreing removed and replaced with epoxy. Mountings were then rebored. This resulted in a solid deck requiring no maintenance.

No Bottom sanding required. Paint and go. No blistering and previously blasted, faired, and barrier coated.

Shaft and cutless recently done.

Recent full weather-tite dodger/bimini/surround.

4 80Watt solar panels on adjustable mountings. 4X6V batteries 1 year old and older starting battery. E-meter and Balmar Smart Guage. 40A battery charger and 1500 pure sine inverter.

Fully equipped for cruising with a variety of anchors including Manson, Beta Marine 50hp Engine with ~1800 hours, 60 gal water, 45 gal Diesel, 20 gal holding.

Because of age and health we will not be moving to another boat which means Moonshadow will come with a lot of tools, spares and so on. She is basically equipped with chart plotters, sounders, knotmeter, VHF, radar, stereos. Brownie hookah, 2 Porta Bote dinghys, self-tailing primary winches, davits, refrigeration etc etc.Ideal electric bronze windlass. Four Hp Yamaha 4 stroke OB, portable generator.

We are (were) primarily cold weather liveaboards so the boat has been specially prepared with 2 diesel heaters by Sigmar. Primary heater has high temp shut-off for safety and balanced draft for operation in all winds. Boat has been insulated where possible.

Eleven non leaking opening bronze ports with screens.

Quantum Main, Mizzen, and Genoa have always been covered and are in good, servicable condition.

Asian walking foot zig-zag sewing machine and accessories included.

Give me your contact details via PM and I can go into greater detail.

Regarding Photos: These were all taken this year (today) while we are cruising in Maine (Penobscott Bay) and so they show many personal items which are not included in the sale some of which are marine related. All these items will be disclosed before any purchase.

Re: 1975 41' Gulfstar Ketch $30K

Is the boat still available, me and my partner are looking for a live aboard to travel to South America and beyond. We currently reside in SW Florida but coincidently I will be working the summer in the Bar Harbor area and would love to sail her back to Florida after the summer season. Please let me know if she is still available. Me and Diana would cherish her like she was one of our own and update you on all of our progress sailing south.
