1978 Tartan 27-2

After many wonderful years sailing our Tartan, we have outgrown it and are getting a bigger boat. We can't afford two, so this one needs to find a new loving home. Electric inboard motor in place of diesel, which has been great. Boat is ready to go. Bottom has been bead blasted, barrier coated and painted. New stuffing box, hose, all 6 opening ports, centerboard and lift rebuilt, most running rigging has been replaced. Has depthsounder and VHF that was with here when we acqiired her, still work fine. LED anchor light, some interior LED lights, new cushions below, new cabin sole, new fresh water foot pump and filter and hoses, Origo 2 burner stove. Had wheel steering, I put a tiller on, but wheel set-up goes with boat. Asking $8500 New (to us) boat on the way! Located In Patchogue, New York.

Looks nice! What's the headroom like, I've read the original version was only 5'10"?

And could you describe the engine details?

Is there a little genset for if (when) she rarely sees shore power?

Re: 1978 Tartan 27-2

The “new” boat is a Pearson 34-2, which we are hoping to be THE boat for us to retire on and “get out there”. We are in the survey phase now. To John CT, I did measure the head room, and it is 5’ 10”. The electric inboard is a Thunderstruck 8.5 kw kit the six 8V Trojan batteries. There is about 4 hours of range. For us it has worked out very well. The system has been reliable, economical, and let us sail year ‘round. Feel free to contact me with any more questions. We were going to sail her yesterday, but spent the afternoon working on my wife’s car. I can’t wait until we sell everything and go!
