1979 Allied Princess 36 MKII

1979 Allied Princess 36 MKII $7,000 OBO MUST SELL!!
Life plans have changed and the boat has to go, fast. It has a Professionally Remanufactured Volkswagon Pathfinder 42 diesel with less than 200hrs. For parts, this is the same 1.6D engine that came in the Rabbit pick-ups. Very simple to work on, parts easily available, not electronic. Bowman heat exchanger. New alt, starter, water pump">raw water pump seal and impeller. Also has a brand new Twin Disc Transmission with new prop shaft and drip less seal, all with less than 20hrs on them.
She is Ketch rigged, with dual headsails, side by side, starboard is roller furling, port is hank-on. Has several hank-on sails, including spinnaker. Three working sails are in good shape, could be used as they are but should be taken in for re-stitching. I have not found any issues with the hank-on headsails.
The hull is in great shape, bottom paint is 1yr old. Boat Needs a good cleaning and some touching up but no damage or serious issues.
Comes with 6-man life raft, out of date, but usable and better than nothing. I am not familiar with recertification process.
There are some issues, it’s 40 years old.
This will be sold for the highest reasonable cash offer. Currently living aboard, can arrange viewing almost anytime. Buyer can rent the current slip, must be arranged with marina.
Please PM for details, the vessel does need a little work but someone can cash in on my misfortune.
Vessel is no longer on the hard. She is located in liveaboard slip in New Bern, NC and must be sold before the end of the month. Click image for larger version

I almost bought a 1977 here in Northern Ca. If it hadn';t been for the fact the boat was not in the sellers name, I would have. I did a lot of research on these and they are pretty stout cruisers. Your price is an almost give away.

The engine, transmission, prop shaft, dripless, and cutlass bearing almost cover the asking price. It has to go, I have a soft offer of $3k, if that ends up being best offer, that's it.

Re: 1979 Allied Princess 36 MKII

That's a sweet boat.

I hope it gets into the hands of someone who can give it some affection which all boats of that age need.
