1979 C & C 40 - Classic Plastic! $49,500

Saralane is for sale! She has been our home away from home for the past twelve years but the time has come to pass her along to other adventurous souls. We purchased her in 2007 when we were seeking a comfortable, capable vessel for extended cruising. She is a C&C 40 centerboard model and we chose her for her sound construction, comfortable layout and exceptional sailing characteristics. In 2010 after a dedicated three-year total refit, including significant modifications, we headed south from Rhode Island and spent the next twelve years exploring the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean as far south as Grenada. Saralane has always been stored ashore for hurricane seasons. Her shoal draft (4’9” board up) is perfect for the Bahamas. The modifications done to modernize her for cruising make her a great choice and set her apart from others currently for sale. Saralane is currently cruising the USVI.

She underwent a thorough refit from 2007 to 2010, but in summary, every system was replaced entirely. She was repowered, rewired, replumbed, had thru-hulls replaced and thru-hulls removed. We put new sinks in the galley and head, installed a new fridge and freezer, installed custom cedar lined clothing cupboards and replaced all cushions and upholstery. These and many other additions make her the perfect cruising boat. Though Saralane was dismasted while stored ashore during hurricane Irma, she now sports a new Selden mast and rigging and a 2018 survey confirmed that she is back in excellent condition. As we move on to a bigger boat we hope to find new owners for Saralane who are ready to move aboard and sail away. Full listing and other photos are available.

Nice walk thru mod on the transom!

We have a 34 and put those same exact port lights near the companionway. I like the ones on the side you added as well.

That is a good looking c&c, and I am partial to C&C's.
