1979 S2 9.2C Georgetown, SC

Location: Georgetown, SC
Asking $29,900

For me, this boat checked all the boxes for a great sailboat design, e.g. solid, safe, and fast. What sets this particular boat above other S2 9.2C boats: electric propulsion, Natures Head, and a new Doyle main and Stack Pack. This boat is a lot of fun and fast—ask any owner. But I wanted a boat I could feel very safe in, too. On more than one occasion, I was told “this boat was built like a brick house.” What more can you ask? The center cockpit design improves your view forward and allows for a private rear cabin. The v-berth is spacious and comfortable, too. It has a bathtub/shower in the head, great ventilation from two (forward and aft) solar-powered hatch fans. After the motor refit, there are no noxious smells from the diesel/engine room. I used it mostly for day sailing, but the previous owner lived aboard. It’s situated on a river with a 2-3 knot current and I can motor 3 miles to the bay, sail, and motor back with plenty of energy to spare. The lithium batteries are great! They stay at 60-70% indefinitely while I’m away from the boat. Relatively speaking, I can step on the boat and go. No worries about finding and filling up with fuel or dumping the black tank. This boat has it all for the environmentally conscious sailor. Grab this boat while you still have years left on the batteries’ 5 year factory warranty with Bestgo. Send a personal message to me through this site, if you are interested.

The draft is just under 5 ft.

But I’m sad to report this boat has been sold. I’m embarrassed to say, I wasn’t able to find this ad to take it down. Thanks for “finding it” for me.

Good luck finding another S2 9.2C. I thought it was a great boat. I guess you could say I aged faster than it did and it became a bit too much to handle. Safe sailing!
