For Sale: 1984 Aphrodite 101

The Aphrodite 101 is a 33 ft ocean racer originally designed to win the Round Denmark Race, which the design did several times. It has a particular strength as a double handed racer. We have trophies to prove that, too. The sailplan is contemporary with a 102% headsail and a large main. She moves beautifully in light air and chop.

We have owned this boat for 13 years and loved doing so. We raced and cruised the boat between Newport, RI and Mt Desert, Maine. Typically we'd cruise to a regatta, race, and cruise home. Always a pleasure. Now we need a different boat for a different project and the Aphrodite is for sale now at $15,000. Location is Chatham, MA on Cape Cod. Our boat is in the water and ready to go.

We are selling it all. Spare gear, black racing sails, white cruising sails, cruising gear, etc. I have refinished the bottom with barrier coat and Pettit hydrocoat. We refinished the interior a few years ago. The boat is ready to go. If my wife would let me, I'd sail her to the Caribbean for a season of racing and exploring. (Not enough headroom for her!)

Agreed, Oh my, her beautiful lines!! A boat that will be easy to love. Unfortunately I need a boat in the Pacific Northwest.

Averisera would be a good boat to go up against our friends on Elixir. Do you know them? Kestrel in Bellingham was the boat that motivated us to buy ours.

Aphrodite 101 is under 8 ft wide and with mast un deck under 12 1/2 feet off ground so trailers easily. I'd like to see her go to a sailor who knows a good boat.

At age 69, we just don't feel like running a race program and want to have headroom for a long cruise.
