Why is a Norseman 400 excellent:


She is a very strongly built light cruiser with above average room and comfort yet a good sailer.
She has cruiser stability, modified heavy full shoal draft keel and heavy duty rudder. The double spreader mast and eight stay rig is more rugged than most her size.


We have owned her since about 1998 as our waterfront second home, spending long weekends and our vacations on her while drifting from port to port on the northeast coast.


We brought her to the Narraganset Bay this season where she will also winter over.

What is the name of your Norseman 400? Is the boat still in Narraganset Bay, Rhode Island.

Two of the pictures you have posted with your ad are from a Norseman 400 that is currently for sale in Emeryville, California, called Namea.

Aerial's Song is also currently for sale in Marion, Massachusetts.

As another Norseman owner, I enjoy keeping track of the Norseman 400 market, of which there are only 22 custom-built boats, I believe. (There were 23 hulls made, but it's likely they skipped hull number 13. I've never found that one.)

I'd love to have information on your boat for the database!

Also, you have the only other Norseman 400 that I've seen that has three chainplates per side. Super sturdy rigs!

Really, I am unaware. I can agree that the heavy rig and shrouds are not typical of 40 foot boats. This goes for the rest of the boat, she is a cut above the consumer fun coast-wise sailboats. In addition, the beauty of the interior teak, the living space and the storage are amazing. We have gone to a lot of sail shows over the years and rarly seen anything to match it.
