RECENT WORK:

Complete bottom job completed September 2022, new zincs etc.

Mast was completely stripped and repainted about 4 years ago and looks mostly like new. Engine had 40 hours on it when The previous owner bought it; it has about 370 hours now (tach broke the year after I bought it and I kept track manually). Monitor windvane has 3 blades -- one for light air, two for moderate to heavier air; works great. New Pelagic autopilot 2020 -- really rugged, simple, smart design. CNG tank and stove in good condition. Composting head, installed 2012; really a great investment -- simple, no odor. Newer genoa, about 5 years old, needs minor repair at leach. Brand new storm jib. Fully-battened main with Tides sail track; main in fairly good condition, but would stand replacement in 3-4 years. Manual windlass. Drifter sail in excellent condition. 2-line reefing. Cushions in both cabins made new in 2010, and in good but not new condition. I really can't think of anything she "needs," other than repair on outer edge of genoa.

History: Built to order for owner # 1 in 1990; they sailed her to Hawaii from the West Coast. Owner # 2 had her in Seattle area and sailed to Alaska. Owner # 3; fresh water (Lake Superior) last 13 years, day sailing and regional cruising. I am owner #4--and have brought her from Michigan to the Gulf (Kemah, TX).

Nice! What type of engine?? Any problem with hull blisters. I'm very interested--- any additional information would be appreciated---I'm on the west coast-- was wondering what it cost you to ship it down to the Gulf-- I have relatives in Woodville TX-- not far from Kemah---- sailed out of Kemah on a BCC so I know the marinas there--Thanks

Hi

She is in Kemah currently, I shipped her down from Michigan!

The engine is a brand new 2YM15 Yanmar with very low hours on her—approx 450.

She has been a fresh water boat for many years now and her condition reflects it. Her interior is immaculate and I know this may sound funny, but she smells like good solid wood construction. I tend to judge boats based on my first impression of how she “smells” and when I first stepped aboard blue moon I was so happy! No icky head/toilet or mildew etc smell. Just crisp woody smell!

lehulei---I would have jumped on your beautiful boat-- but i'm up here in the pacific northwest---- I've trucked boats around the country before--- actually from Kemah-- I just didn't want to go through that again---- but no worries as lovely as she is she will sell soon

I suppose it's not so bad if you keep you energies up--- but think of this--- the added expense 1. Drive to Kemah or fly. 2. Hang out for survey$$ (or not) have the boat pulled mast removed, remembering to label all the rigging, $$. 3. shipping costs $$. 4. Find a marina that has can step the mast $$. Then in the Pacific Northwest find a mooring.---thats not so easy-- for example in Bellingham if you LOA is 36 or above you are just out of luck-- they don't even put you on a waiting list anymore--- Having past the storm years of youth, I just decided, find a local boat for God's sake--- you find your dreams must modify with age--- but your boat will certainly visit my dreams!!!

Hi,

I'm aware that this is an old post, but, being an optimist, I'm hoping that, for whatever reason, you still own this boat and that you might still want to part with it. I'm in TX and used to sail out of Kemah, so no worries about shipping or anything of that nature. If you did sell her but by some miracle know of another Nor'sea 27 of similar quality withing, say, 800 miles of Kemah, please let me know.
