Want To Buy: 35-38 ft cruiser near Lake Champlain/Ontario

Hi cruisers,

New member from Montreal, just completed my ASA 101, 103 and 104 and I am on the market for my first sailboat. I'm looking for a 35 to 38 ft seventies cruiser for sale on lake Champlain or lake Ontario. The plan is to upgrade it while learning all I can and in 2-3 years, take it down to the Caribbean for a season. I'm looking at boats like the Pearson 35 or 36 cutter, Ericson 35 or 36C, Morgan 38...you know, robust and well below 6 ft draft (not necessarily looking for a cbrd).

I'm not afraid to put in some work nor am I unskilled although new to boating, budget is 15-20K USD.

A good example of what I'm looking for (in Maine, which is impractical for me): Morgan 382 for 23K
