35' Tung Hwa Fantasia 35 Mk2 /$69k

We are selling our 1982 Fantasia 35 Mk2 hull number 76, 'TRYST' a solid, very capable, proven ocean yacht that has cruised from Alaska to Maine. She is a very livable and economic yacht that has a brilliantly designed interior that feels more like a 40-footer. TRYST has been continuously updated by us and we have spent the last 7 years cruising the US east coast, the Caribbean, and Latin America. We recently purchased another vessel and are looking for a good home for TRYST. She is currently available the in the BVI and 100% turn key and ready for an adventure! PM/Direct message for more info. Asking $69k

The hull bottom was professionally treated for osmosis in 2022: Gel-peel down by 3/16”, dried for 7 months and re-laminated with two layers of 1208 bi-axial cloth and epoxy resin, epoxy-phenolic faired, barrier coated with six (6) coats of West System 422 additive and epoxy, primed with two coats of Intertuf 262 primer and three coats of Interspeed 6400NA commercial bottom paint. All lamination and coats were applied “green” for maximum chemical bond and adherence. The hull bottom is stronger than when built and will provide many years of osmosis free service. Tony that is an excellent example of a Bruce Bingham Fantasia Mk2. They are very nice boats and looks like you've taken good care of her.

Thanks. I see you've a Bingmam 49 owner. We really enjoyed cruising and working on the Fantasia. We bought a Swan 46 so our big kids can visit us and don't need two boats

Re: 35' Tung Hwa Fantasia 35 Mk2 /$69k

Wow, have seen pics of this boat here and there on the net but it really is in remarkable condition. Amazing! They don't seem to come up for sale often but this combination of a MKII and condition it should go quickly.

I was always curious about the hard dodger implementation, if I ever get around to finishing my Fantasia refit I thought it might be a worthwhile addition, but hearing first-hand would be good if you could spare a thought or two on it!

Re: 35' Tung Hwa Fantasia 35 Mk2 /$69k

The original owners had it done by a boat builder just north of Vancouver, BC. I have some photos of the mock-up and building process. Some purists may not care for a dodger but I really liked having it in wet and cold weather. The way it is constructed I think it can survive a full roll. Added bonus the glass stays clear and no fabric/frame to maintain and replace. You can stand on top of it. Send me a PM with your phone number and I can tell you all about it if you are considering adding one to your boat.

Re: 35' Tung Hwa Fantasia 35 Mk2 /$69k

WOW this post is a flash back. TRYST is the first boat I sailed in the ocean. I made a few trips with the PO from Annapolis to NYC. I still remember that first trip rounding Cape May and heading north around sunset. It was my first time at the helm of a boat in the actual ocean. Kinda like your first girlfriend I'll never forget those trips to NYC on TRYST. Good luck with the sale.

Re: 35' Tung Hwa Fantasia 35 Mk2 /$69k

Some have asked me about the boat's performance. Below are performance charts that were made on a MK2 Fantasia by Robert B. Harris who did the engineering for the MK2.

I will also be linking some videos of her under sail as seen from another boat and of me sailing her so you can see that actual performance ties to that measured by Harris.
