Selling a 1972 Pacifica 48'. Just wondering if a Crow's Nest is a positive or negative for selling boat. Originally used for sword-fishing but have done a refit for cruising or live a board. Hull is dark blue fiberglass, wood trim and off- white decks.

DESCRIPTION
1972 Pacifica 48’ Raised Pilothouse with custom additional 4’ added by Shelter Island Boat Yard.

• Note: She was originally built as a Pacifica 44’ hull and an extra 4’ was then molded to the transom to create as is, a 48’ hull by Shelter Island Boat Yard. Her original molded transom was never removed, thereby design structure was never compromised. Additional under deck area is empty although used to house a generator.

• She was formerly a well known sport fisher in Southern California and named ‘Chula’ and presently used as a cruiser. She is an extremely spacious enclosed pilothouse trawler with Portuguese Bridge. Over $50,000 has been spent on upgrades and renovation including wiring and Vacuflush. The entire salon was gutted and professionally remodeled. Engines are fresh water keel-cooled 671 Detroit Diesels. Engines and transmission were totally rebuilt in 1996 and has only several hundred hours since. She is a documented vessel.

• Galley Up with Double Stainless Steel Sink w/ Moen fixtures and Garbage Disposal

• There is a very large 8 ton fish hold which we've used for storage, also a Cargo boom and Crow's Nest.

Re: 48' Pacifica w/ Crow's Nest

Am I doing something wrong because I haven't gotten any comment? I know she is priced way below the typical Pacifica but that's not because something's wrong with her. All of the others are California fishing machines and mine is no longer set up for fishing. I lived aboard her for about 20 years and she's been one of the greatest highlights of my life. My kids were very worried that I might fall and get hurt somehow since I'm in my 70's so now they've taken me in to live with them. Thanks for any suggestions!!

It's a beautiful boat, but this forum is part of the Cruisers & Sailing Forums which I believe is composed mostly of sailboat affectionados. I'm not even vaguely interested in purchasing a powerboat and my guess is that goes for most of the people that monitor this forum. There are a lot of boating classifieds sites out there that might serve your purposes better.

Oh thank you very much. I didn't realize that and I appreciate your letting me know. Always followed Cruisers Forum because there was always a lot about fixing up repairing different things and so thought it would be a good place. Thanks again, very much!

I was going to say the same thing but there is a powerboat forum on here. It just isn’t as popular.

The Crow's Nest is a huge positive.
Somewhere for the mother-in-law to sleep,
when she flies in on her broomstick
