81 Corbin PH Cutter

1981 Corbin Pilot House Cutter located near Portland Oregon, $65,000.00. This is a Cruiser and a very comfortable live aboard platform.

Just hauled out for inspection, bottom painting and maintenance.

Too many upgrades to list here Contact me for link. Ready to load up groceries and beer and sail away. This boat was built in Ontario Canada by Marius Corbin. It is a heavy weather boat built like a tank with a fiberglass hull. Handles well and has a Volvo Penta 40 HP D2-40F naturally asperated engine with 240 hours on it. PYI three blade variable prop.

HUGE List of brand new equipment to include entire navigation and sonar/radar suite by SIMRAD. AIS with dedicated antenna. Smart TV, Dual Stereo with Bose Speakers. All new running and standing rigging. 300 Ft of new G4 chain, New refer system, AirX Heat pump system. SSB. Loads more.

This boat is open for inspection on short notice. This boat is listed with a broker, but I am able to sell independently. I am pushing 70 and figure at my age if I want to sail in the Tortugas or Tahiti or anyplace that starts with a T, I'd be better off flying there and chartering a boat for a short duration. This is a very nice boat.

My understanding is that the hull is cored...this from Sail Magazine...

“As far as we can determine, all the decks are a sandwich of fiberglass and mahogany plywood. No Airex was used anywhere in the deck. Likewise for all rumors that the decks were cored with balsa,” Sharman said. “The hulls are a fiberglass-Airex-fiberglass sandwich to well below the waterline, then solid fiberglass down through the keel.”

No aft dorades, I just leave the hatch open with screens at night. Easily could add them for ventilation Headliner on port side is removable and the stbd side is open. Just more snags for the sheets though.

Re: 81 Corbin PH Cutter

There is no balsa coring on this boat. This one is bomb proof.

Re: 81 Corbin PH Cutter

No...not balsa core but core above the waterline...
"Corbins desire to build a very strong hull and deck resulted in a generous lamination schedule with solid fibreglass below the waterline, Airex core above the waterline, and decks built with ¾ inch marine mahogany core. The mahogany deck core was in 4 inch squares bonded to the deck skins on both sides and between the squares. The grid of resin around the edges of the ply helps minimize the migration of water should there be leakage around deck fittings. Some later boats may have used Airex for the deck core although this has not been confirmed. There are no known boats with balsa cores."
