Avon Rover 310 Lite RIB w/8 hp Yamaha

We purchased a new, larger dinghy, and are selling our previous, very lightly used outfit. It is an Avon Rover 310 Lite (Compact) RIB with a Yamaha 8 hp 2-stroke motor. The hull is fiberglass with Hypalon (not the cheaper PVC) tubes. This is probably the optimum combination of lightweight performance, that we opted for to hang off the davits of our smaller catamaran. The all-up weight is 150 lbs – 94 lbs boat, and 56 lbs motor. It will plane with three adults.

We purchased both new in 2009, although the Avon was a 2005 model and the Yamaha a 2008 model. The Yamaha is a highly sought-after motor, as you cannot buy two-strokes anymore, and the 4-stroke choice is much heavier.

The Avon RIB has a folding transom and deflates to a relatively-compact package for storage in its soft case. Both have seen little use – a few two-week trips nearby, and two trips to the Bahamas. Most of their life has been spent in the garage. Prior to each storage, the dinghy has been cleaned, dried, hull waxed, and the tubes treated with 303 Protectant before put in its soft case. The motor has been flushed frequently with fresh water, all recommended maintenance, and new water pump last year. It starts on first pull and runs very strong.

The Avon has two small rust stains from transport against the stainless davit. Otherwise, the Hypalon is in excellent condition, tubes have no leaks, and no patches. At one point we had a transom leak that was professionally-repaired under warranty by Triad Marine. It is dry with no leaks.

Comes with the wooden oars, foot pump, underseat bag and repair kit. And the soft case for the Avon. Asking $2,500 for the package, which is NADA for the two, but they are in far better condition than their model year would suggest. Here are some current pictures of the motor, pics of the Avon when it was new (sitting on buckets), and the Bahamas pics of the boat are from summer 2019. The boat is currently stored in its case but will be removed and inflated for serious inquiries. Prefer to sell together but will sell the dinghy alone if that’s your interest. Located in Port Aransas, Texas.
