BOAT SHARE: 1/3 ownership Jaguar 36

We are selling one- third ownership in SV Mikat, a 2004 Jaguar 36 produced in South Africa. This catamaran is incredibly spacious and open, reminiscent of larger vessels, including a large king cabin in the owners suite. This boat has been recently updated and is turn-key for cruising with a watermaker, generator, solar panels and a hard-bottom dinghy purchased in 2020. Asking price $60,000, negotiable. We are currently cruising the Exumas, available for showings in the Bahamas until mid-April.

Mikat was rebuilt in 2017 by one of the current members of the partnership and is now managed by an LLC consisting of three partners from around the U.S. Use and management of the boat is laid out in an operating agreement. The current agreement allows for two months high season and two months low season per partner on a rotating basis. Cruising location and timing of boat exchange is negotiable annually among partners. Members of the LLC provide semi-annual dues (currently $5,000 per year per partner) to account for operating costs and maintenance. Mikat has been moored in various ports in southern Florida from May 1 to October 1.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enter a sailboat partnership and get started on your sailing adventures. Sharing equity in a boat (or fractional ownership) offers the benefits of significant cost savings, sharing the maintenance burden, and the ability to sail for longer stretches than when chartering.

SALON: 8 person U-shaped leather settee with a 360 degree view outside. Glass 4-panel doors open completely to the roomy cockpit, enlarging the living space. Ample storage below seats and below the mirrored navigation station. CD player and stereo, with outdoor and indoor speakers.

GALLEY: Well-designed U-shaped kitchen, including 4-burner propane stove with remote gas shutoff and sensor, microwave, stainless steel refrigerator and freezer. Double bowl stainless steel sink. Plenty of cooking implements and easy-access storage for food and snacks, including a wine rack. Outdoor BBQ on port stern with new fiberglass tank.

PORT HULL: Queen cabin aft with 12V fan and engine underneath the berth. Tons of storage lockers in the companionway. The forward hull has roomy shower, manual saltwater head, and a roomy large sink/vanity.

STARBOARD HULL: Queen cabin aft cabin with 12V fan and engine underneath the berth. Companionway with storage lockers. Luxurious king cabin in the forward hull with teak cabinets, 12V fan, dimmable LED lighting. Electric freshwater head and shower.

COCKPIT: Roomy cockpit with a U-shaped table, bench, and comfortable captains bench seat. Bimini and zip-off dodger provide shade and cover, and a hardtop walkway under the boom allows easy access to solar panels and the mainsail. Safe and easy sail handling as all lines lead to the helm.

TRANSOM & BOW: Steps on both hulls lead to the water, with dinghy lift in the middle. Outdoor shower plumbed to the hot water tank. Double stainless wire lifelines and stanchions. Trampolines port and starboard of a gangway to the genoa roller furler. Blue lights on bow to see fish underwater at night. Seats on all 4 corners of the hull to watch dolphins and sunsets!

POWER SYSTEMS: Two HP Volvo MD2020 20hp diesel engines (rebuilt in 2022 with less than 200 hours) and SD20 sail drives. Next Generation diesel generator. Six AGM house batteries, 110v inverter, and four 300 W solar panels all managed by a power charging regulator/system. Onboard reverse-osmosis watermaker. Hot water heater next to starboard engine. Two 120V air conditioning units.

SAILS: Fully battened Dacron main sail with 2 reef points. Lewmar electric winch and roller furling genoa, both reconditioned in 2019. Spare sails include a gennaker, spinnaker and storm sail.

GROUND TACKLE: Two CQR plough anchors with 100 feet chain and 200 feet rhode. Windlass with foot controls on forward deck.

DINGHY: 2020 Zodiac Nautic Cadet (10.5 feet) with an aluminum bottom, and a Tohatsu 9.8hp outboard.

TANKS: 110 gallons of freshwater storage (70 gallons forward and 40 gallons aft). 70 gallon diesel tank. 2 LPG 20 lb. tanks (1 in forward storage locker for the galley stove, 1 strapped outside cockpit for BBQ grill).

INSTRUMENTS & SAFETY EQUIPMENT: VHF at nav station and at helm, handheld VHF, Raymarine chartplotter, GPS, AIS in, depth sounder, wind instrument, autopilot, compass, handheld VHF. ACR EPIRB, lifejackets with harnesses, fire extinguishers, spotlight, throw ring and flares.
