Looking for a catamaran in the 34’ to 42’ range

I am looking to purchase a medium sized catamaran. Something in the 34’ to 42’ range. Trying to stay at a budget of around 150k so I understand it will most likely need to be an older mode.

scaling-up factor for displacement from 34' to 42' is 1,88...
That's a huge range!

Well depending on the size and layout some boats work better. Fountaine Pajot had a 38’ and a 42’ in the mid 90s that I really like. But I’m not opposed to newer model Gemini’s either. So I wanted to have a fairly decent range in size so I can stay open to different options.

I can honestly recommend lagoon tpi's. The 37 is within your budget, and you may find a 42 on the top end of it.

The FP Tobaggo 35 is a nice little cruiser, maybe even stretch to an Athena 38 for that money. Of course there are older models like Prouts and custom built jobs which may or may not be worth a look but will mostly be in disappointing condition. If one of your criteria is to have the engines separated from the cabin areas then you have quite a short list (but that is just a no go for us having looked at scores of older cats - you can't get rid of that aroma) - so maybe outboard power on say a Gemini or PDQ.

The Lagoon 37 isn’t a bad boat, I believe they are cored below the waterline if I’m not mistaken. The FP 35 and the Athena 38 are nice and I’m keeping my eye out for them. I am hoping someone is trying to sell one and will see my post. The Gemini’s are definitely on the list because they seem to be quite available but my wife isn’t too fond of not being able to stand around the table. But for my budget sacrifices need to be made somewhere. I have been on Facebook marketplace, boat trader and yacht world quite a bit. The ones I have found I can’t get a response from the brokers. Hoping to have some luck here
