A 46 would be close to twice as big as a 38.

By displacement. It's not uncommon for a 46 to almost double the displacement of a 38.

there is an Amor 40 pilot house in pender harbour bc
was built as a high latitudes expedition boat but for some reason never never went anywhere . sister-ships have done a lot of blue water including northwest passage extraordinarily solid boat, looks to be completely updated, new beta etc. id buy it but already have one too many boats
