Scandinavian quality with French Looks?

The quality of a Scandinavian sailing yacht is undisputble, (I myself have only ever sailed with a Malo and I liked it). However, the interior of the Scandinavian boats is like coming home to grandma and grandpa or to a bank manager (mahogany and more mahogany). Are there boats with the quality of a Scandinavian boat (Najad, Malo HR) with the looks of a Grand Soleil or Ovni?

Now I have the feeling (towards my budget 200-250K) that I have to choose between a new french look or an old fashioned Swedish boat.

Any advice for a 40ft-43ft coastal cruiser (occasional long trips for holidays) is always welcome.

If I had the budget I would buy the new OVNI400 but Ovni's (recent ones) are nowhere available on the second hand market.

Yes, I sailed two weeks on a Pilot Saloon. They are tremendous good quality build ships but not so keen on the Pilot Saloon look on the outside. I have a bit the feeling they are a motor-sailor. But correct me if I'm wrong.

Check out XYachts. Really good boats and really nicely designed. We have a 38 it’s an awesome boat.

It has a very nice 35' smaller sister-model the RM 1050. That was one of the boats on my short-list before I fell in love with my current aluminium-monster.

If this is the case Dehler Is the category next to X, esp those prior to takeover by Hanse: mildly sporty looks and robust. My bro has one of 2009 and he keeps going faster than me and my N373 (bothwere designed by the same architect btw) which makes him happy. Boat designs are different and build is clearly stronger (and heavier) on Najad but Dehler is close to X.

If you would go for Dehler, with your budget and your considerations on build quality I would not go for a new one but look for a quality used one, Hanse has pushed them more mainstream in terms of build quality.

Thanks for the advice. Are the new ones so much different. It seems not easy to find a recent second hand one
