It's over 1100 miles for me to view her, so wouldn't mind a bit of dialogue about her condition before I set off.
The one in northern Ireland is an issue logistically right now, which is a shame.

I wouldn't be put off with the one in NI. Arguably its easier and quicker to get to. Fly to Belfast airport and hire car or bus to Donagadee, if that's were its located which I think it is. The broker might even pick you up at this time of year.

It's had the engine changed too.

Hi Pete, it's not so much the getting to it, it's getting it back by myself that I'm thinking about. Especially this time of year. I think I'll give him a ring though and see what is said. Cheers.

Re: Seadog30 uk

Well, of all the yachts you could buy I think this is one of the better choices for winter sailing. That cockpit which I think could be enclosed will provide great protection from the cold. Ask if the auto pilot works, but its not the end of the world if it doesn't.

Plan on 5.5 knots motor sailing and go Bangor to Peel or Douglas on the IOM then Holyhead or Preston, both have tidal marinas. Both similar legs of 40 and 50m or so day sailing. That gets the boat back to England and easier to get to for the winter to visit. I have done the NI to IOM a few times and assuming you get the tides right not a problem. Certainly easier than Largs. Preston will be easier to get to on the train to do some work and then bring her down south in the Spring, in easy steps.

Was there a particular reason for choosing the Seadog? This is available around the corner from you, for similar money. Yes it needs work, but most will at this budget and I suspect a much better yacht to sail.
