For Sale: Steel Gazelle Junk Schooner, Virtually A New Build

This Colvin Gazelle junk rigged schooner was partially completed and sailed for a couple of years in the Bahamas. The hull is high strength Corten steel, perfectly fair. A friend of mine brought her to Canada, stripped her out and blasted and painted her inside and out to a very high standard and did a great deal of additional work. He is a meticulous craftsman. For all practical purposes this is a new boat near completion. For health reasons he is now forced to sell. There is a website with lots of photos and details of the build, equipment included, much of it brand new. He is asking US$46,000.

The boat is located in a secure shed in southeastern Ontario which would be available to the purchaser if needed.

Is it 3" or 40ft long?

It's 42' on deck, 50' with bowsprit, beam 11', draft 4'.

hmmmmmmm its nearly new built in 1987 which makes it 37 years old new.
Thusly I was born in 1937 and am 86 years old nearly new. lol

I had the same thought, is this a beautifully made model or a real full size Gazelle.

Wow. Think a zero has been missed off the price?? Huge number of manhours to do all that.
Two things caught my eye -
Amerlock 400 epoxy as one of the paints specced by the Royal Navy for interior compartments and I use it. I've been using some paint that is almost 20 years old. After straining out a few pigment flakes, It is working perfectly. Original supplier horrified��
Plastic composite for exterior woodwork - I'd like to find out some more details on that??
