1981 Tartan 37 CB
OUR LATTITUDE is a beautifully equipped and maintained centerboard model ready to go cruising. Fresh from the Great Lakes earlier in 2018, this boat has been in fresh water nearly all its life, and is now ready to expand her horizons with a new crew. The current owners have been meticulous and proactive in preparing and preserving the safety and comfort of this classic racer/cruiser. With recent refits and upgrades, an extensive list of spares and an equipment list a mile long, this yacht is a must-see for anyone looking to do some serious cruising.

For sale ads have to give a price and a location for the boat.

Re: Tartan 37 CB (1981)

There are generally great boats. I sailed one from from Annapolis to Caracas in the late 70's. The only real issue for serious offshore work is the skeg. Ours failed on 3 occasions on this trip, shearing away (no collisions) about halfway down the depth of the rudder, leaving the leading edge of the rudder exposed to the flow of the water. This caused the bolts in the gudgeons to work back and forth, elongating the holes and creating as serious leak. Simply not built strongly enough and created a serious safety risk. Eventually the factory flow down to Venezuela to effect a major reinforcement which solved it. If you plan to go offshore, take precautions with this
