He was making a joke on your very high expectations, and low budget.

Re: WTB -40 foot cruiser

I wouldn’t say that I have high expectations because I’ve seen some beautiful boats sell for much less than my budget. I’m also willing and able to do some TLC repairs.
I was really hoping that the good folks here may know of a boat or know someone with a boat for sale. I guess trolling sailing forums is your thing.

It appears that boat is still available, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

No water maker or solar (you're not likely to get that for 50k). But this is a darn good starting platform. I own one.

No keel bolts to fret over either.

I have noticed that you are constantly a "Debbie Downer" with your derogatory comments on a lot of posts...do you have nothing better to do?? Why dont you go wax your 1991 Geo Prizm then caulk the windows of your double-wide cuz im pretty sure it leaks a lot of hot air!!

I am not an internet "troll" and generally advocate for people to be nice encouraging and respectful of the forums.

But... The comments about a cruise ready 40ish foot boat with all your desired systems for a max all in budget of 50k is a little unrealistic-not negative.

But that being said, I hope you find the preverbal unicorn and get to live the life of cruising you hope for.

I wish you genuine good luck in your cruising future.

Well my little Debbie Downer you are soooo wrong!!! I FOUND MY BOAT!! I couldnt be happier!! I dont believe in unicorns, i believe in putting in the work, the time, and the effort to finding a boat....and you will!!
I got everything i was hoping to get and all for less than $30K!
If you think you are gonna find a boat scouring the internet then yeah, you wont find a deal but if you get off your duff and do the work then YES there are deals out there!! I have an entire 41 foot boat full of goodies to sort through and organize but thanks for the words of encouragement!! Cheers!
