For those of us who do not do FB, here's a different link:
https://www.theherald.com.au/story/5...-hunter-coast/

Sail in the daytime, and keep your eyes peeled if you're in the area. 15 mi, approx off the Hunter coast, and northbound, with these prevailing winds.

Here's another link: Boaters warned of debris after 83 shipping containers fall from cargo ship off NSW coast - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

It states that AMSA is working with NSW Roads and Maritime and the company, to salvage the containers.

As of today, there are reports of some of the containers, washed ashore in Stockton Bight.

And diapers, surgical masks, and plastic bottles spilling from at least one container.

Re: 83 containers lost off Newcastle

The sea was not really that bad, 8 metre swells but we have had much worse over the past four years. Must have been some fault with one or more piles of containers. The ship now is south-east of Port Kembla, has been hanging around Sydney for the past 48 hours or so.

Yes, we heard she was trying to get an urgency berth in Botany Bay to seccure the remaining containers. Hope she's got in by now.
