From Noonsite comes a report that Lucky Cat has come ashore in Galicia after being abandoned in the Atlantic last July.

wow! all these perfectly intact boats washing up everywhere lately. Maybe the best thing to do when the going gets tough is to pretend your not aboard and let the boat take care of itself.

I met a young couple once that decided they needed to be rescued after a hurricane mauled them offshore between Bermuda and the U.S.A. After they were rescued by a freighter they said, "Never again!" They almost died getting from their small boat onto the freighter. And of course there's the Westsail that eventually washed ashore after the crew was rescued by the CG in the Perfect Storm. Some friends of mine spotted her on the beach and called the CG.

Someone may correct me, but it's been my understanding that the owner was basically told by the CG that he "must" get off the boat.
Also that the satchel/briefcase that he had left in the cockpit was still there when the boat hit the beach?
Oh, that W32 is still sailing.

Yes, there is always more to the story! We met Ray after he had retrieved and restored Satori, and he told us some of his tale.

If I had to come ashore on any boat I'd prefer to be on a cat. That boat on the beach looks like it is not in huge danger, at least in the photo.

I have favoured cats since I was a swab - simple reason ,cats(multis ) float , keelers are gone in less than a minute , so I was told as a lad !! I think of that simple saying when a situation becomes a little stressful.
