You could mitigate this by mounting a interior frame with recessed attachment points for the storm panel. Of course, by the time you go to that much trouble, you may as well re-do the windows themselves. Or, you could have "temporary" stud covers that achieve a similar purpose.

Of course you could just remove the windows at sea level, glass over the holes, and move one step closer to a proper ocean going boat.

These in hull windows are a perfect case of marketing over function. Look great at the boat show. In a strong gale with 3 meter breaking waves, maybe not so much. Especially in a boat with a hull as flexible as the typical Beneteau.
