Fire Ball extinguiser

Anyone consider carrying on board or mounting one of these in various hight risk compartments?

Video demonstrations are impressive!

Re: Fire Ball extinguiser

In the fire service, we call those things ‘holy hand grenades’

Make sure that if that thing goes off, the powder is contained to the engineering space.

Inhaling MAP can cause severe cardiopulmonary distress, even cardiac arrest.

Me personally? I’d prefer a good fire detection system and well placed extinguishers. I like to be in control.

There are at least a couple of threads that discuss that device:

Re: Fire Ball extinguiser

This looks like it contains ammonium phosphate and barium sulfate.

Ammonium phosphate seems relatively benign but from the material safety data sheet barium sulfate is probably not good for your lungs.

Barium sulfate data sheet.
"Caution! May cause eye and skin irritation. May cause respiratory tract irritation. May cause lung damage."
