Forespar WL-1 MOB Strobe

I have one of these from a previous owner but the unit does not self activate. I have looked at Forespar's site and their youtube video but cannot find an explanation. Looking at the unit itself shows no mechanism for self activation (either water of inversion).

Does anyone understand how these work?

It most likely has a mercury switch built onto the circuit board. I do not know the unit, so would not comment further.
