Re: My Song - Lost

IIRC she was in St Martin over the winter. I believe I saw her there and dinigied past here numerous times. I did not realize she had such an illustrious status.

Sad loss.

On wonders what the hell went wrong?

Enigmatic story.

I am at a loss for superlatives for that one. Stunning.

Less wear-and-tear having her delivered as freight than on her own bottom

Sometimes...

There will be some unhappy insurers involved, I reckon!

A lifting keel of 36 tons and she still needs rail meat. Well not anymore.

If this is in fact correct, the shipping company is looking better than it seemed earlier. I envision teams of lawyers, shiny briefcases in hand, forming up on the wharf, visions of sugarplums and big billing hours dancing in their heads!

Definitely following!

Re: My Song - Lost

A friend of mine has his Beneteau Oceanis 54 on the same ship, going from Fort Lauderdale to Croatia. Peters and May claim no other boats were damaged, I sure hope so. But blaming the yacht's cradle without concrete info on their part smacks of CYA. The tone of their press release was quite aggressive.

Re: My Song - Lost

My Song has been recovered and towed to Palma. Obviously some damage to the hull (it's being kept afloat with bags!) and the rig gone.

Re: My Song - Lost

Was it shipped with the rig standing? I have no opinion one way or the other, just thinking they may have removed it to ship given overall size of vessel.
